Screen Resolutions

Trying to use a screen resolution that isn’t supported will stop the database opening. A few users have found this when nothing happens after they press the ‘Load and Open’.

Barry Stuart advised the following supported resolutions:

  • Supported

The following screen resolutions are supported:

    1024×768

    1152×864

    1280×720

    1280×768

    1280×800

    1280×1024

    1440×900

    1680×1050

    1920×1200

  • Not Supported

The following resolutions are NOT supported:

    800×600

    1024×600

    1280×600

If your screen resolution isn’t a supported one, then reset your screen resolution in Control Panel to one of the above. Note that your PC will then remain at this screen resolution for any other work that you do.

    Res-o-Matic

There is a program that enables screen resolutions to be set for specific applications then they revert to the ‘normal’ resolution for other work.

The program is Res-o-Matic and is reviewed at
